Evaluating the Future Viability of Work Models

The assignment:

Digital transformation, evolving employee expectations, and new ways of working are prompting companies to reassess how future-proof their structures and work models are. Our client wanted to understand how well they are positioned for the Future of Work and to identify specific areas needing action. The goal was to establish a solid, practical foundation for strategic development.

The approach:

In a workshop with senior executives, we first enhanced our shared understanding of the term 'Future of Work' and the associated challenges. We placed great emphasis on personal and trusting communication to collaboratively identify important topics for the company. Building on this, we developed a structured employee survey to collect data-driven insights into how well the company is currently positioned from the employees' perspective and where there is specific need for action. The results were then prioritised and aligned with the company's strategic objectives. This process led to the creation of concrete measures addressing both structural and cultural aspects.

The result

The project provided a comprehensive, fact-based foundation for evaluating organisational future-readiness within the context of the 'Future of Work'. Our approach created transparency regarding key strengths and areas for development from both management and employee perspectives. These insights served as an objective basis for making strategic decisions about the organisation's further development. At the same time, we identified specific measures to sustainably enhance digital skills, purpose, autonomy, and collaboration.
