The assignment:
A client from the chamber sector was facing significant structural challenges in its core vocational education process. Staff reported a persistently heavy workload, as well as framework conditions and requirements that were changing too quickly. Against this backdrop, the question arose whether the existing structures, processes and distribution of responsibilities in the education area are sustainable in the long term. Our brief was to make the causes of the overload measurable and transparent, identify risks and derive starting points for the organisation’s sustainable development.
The approach:
In our comprehensive analysis, we combined quantitative and qualitative methods with depth and foresight. We began by conducting structured, personal interviews with employees to capture the subjectively perceived stress factors, challenges, and areas for improvement. Building on this, we carried out a detailed activity structure analysis and identified cost drivers along the end-to-end process to objectively reveal where capacities are tied up. Finally, we systematically consolidated, prioritised, and translated all findings into critical areas for action and specific starting points.
The result
The analysis provided measurable transparency regarding key structural, procedural, and personnel levers. Based on this, we developed targeted measures to relieve staff, strengthen a resilient work organization, and increase satisfaction. At the same time, our client received a solid, forward-thinking basis for decisions that enabled them to strategically reallocate resources, centralize themes sensibly, and streamline processes consistently. This approach effectively addressed the anticipated knowledge and capacity loss, while sustainably and responsibly advancing the organization.
