Introducing process management, including a process map

The assignment:

A mid-sized company set out to rebuild process management across the organisation and create a consistent foundation for transparency, control and continuous improvement. Against this backdrop, it needed a process management approach that breaks down siloed, function-led thinking, fosters a shared understanding of processes and creates a robust process architecture for future developments. Building on this, the company wanted to select and implement suitable BPM software that would support both business and technical requirements over the long term.

The approach:

Drawing on proven principles and methods, we designed a customer-specific process architecture based on consistent conventions and aligned future process management firmly around end-to-end logic. Together with the leadership team, we developed a process map that is firmly embedded in the company for the long term. At the same time, we defined the structural and organisational conditions for capturing, governing and further developing the processes. As part of a structured tool selection process, we evaluated various BPM solutions, supported the decision-making phase and helped implement and establish the tool for the long term. Beyond the rollout, we support the ongoing transfer into the organisation through (modelling) workshops, training and knowledge transfer.

The result

The company now has a future-ready process management approach, underpinned by a clear organisational structure and a systematic method for capturing, modelling and further developing processes. At the same time, introducing and embedding the BPM tool has created a solid foundation for transparency, continuous improvement and the targeted identification of digitalisation opportunities. With the new end-to-end focus, we as an ongoing sparring partner are seeing more cross-functional collaboration and are setting the milestones for improvement initiatives that will deliver long-term success.
